Band Camp 2026 Information

REGISTRATION FOR CAMP:

Registration Day #1: Thursday, July 30, 2026 (5:00-8:00 pm) in Grimsley Band Room

Registration Day #2: Thursday, August 6, 2026 (5:00-8:00 pm) in Grimsley Band Room

 

Drumline Families should register on Thursday, July 30, 2026.  All other families may choose either date to register.  We are trying to avoid doing registrations on the first day of camp, please be sure to register on the dates listed above.

If you registered on Day 1, you do not need to attend the second registration date.  However, students DO need to check in daily at registration.

Registration will be in the band room on the first floor of the music building (Room 700).  Enter the music building from the bus parking lot side doors.  View map here.  Parents may assist their students with registration.

BAND CAMP SCHEDULE:

Drum Line Camp:

  • Monday, August 3-Thursday, August 6, 2026 (8:30 am-4:30 pm) - Auditions for drum line placement will take place on Monday, July 28, 2025.

  • Friday, August 7, 2026 (8:30 am-12:00 pm)

Full Marching Band Camp:

  • Monday, August 10-Wednesday, August 12, 2026 (8:30 am-4:30 pm)

  • Thursday, August 13, 206 (8:30 am-6:00 pm)

  • Thursday, August 13, 2026 (6:00 pm) - Parent Preview Performance & Mandatory Parent Meeting

  • Friday, August 14, 2026 (8:30 am-12:00 pm)

BRING TO BAND CAMP:

  • Band Fee - Please bring cash, check (made to Grimsley Band Boosters), or card payment for your band fee.

    • $150 for returning marchers. ($150 cash or check/$155 for card payment)

    • $185 for new marchers. ($185 for cash or check/$190 for card payment)

  • ​Comfortable Clothes and Shoes - We will be outside for band camp every morning.  Please dress for the weather and wear shoes that will support your feet, legs, and body while marching.  NO crocs, flip flops, Hey Dudes, open toe shoes.  You need to wear athletic sneakers.  Wearing inappropriate shoes will result in not being allowed to participate until the correct shoes are worn.

  • Theme Days - These go along with what to wear.  Have fun with the theme days.

  • Instrument, Flip Folder or Flip Folder App (on your smartphone), and Music.

    • Music will be uploaded to the Flip Folder App.  Be sure to download the app and join the Grimsley Marching Band group prior to band camp.  It will take a few minutes to download the music.  If you don't have a phone or a smartphone, please get a flip folder from a local music store and we will provide you a paper copy.  

    • All wind players need a lyre for their instrument.  This will hold your phone or flip folder while we are playing.  

  • Lunch/Snack/Water - Pack your lunch, bring a snack, and a water bottle.  Students are not allowed to leave campus for lunch.  If students order DoorDash, delivery must be during the lunchtime, students will not be allowed to leave rehearsal to pick up DoorDash.  

  • Bring a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and sunglasses.

  3. Use your student email to join: student#@stu.gcsnc.com - DO NOT USE A PERSONAL EMAIL.

  4. Connect Code: GHSMB!2026

  5. Select your instrument and if there are multiple parts (1st and 2nd), choose all of them.

  6. Download Songs
