BAND BOOSTER INFORMATION

WHO ARE WE?

​The Grimsley Band Boosters is a 501c(3) organization meaning we operate as a tax-exempt non-profit. Our mission is to assist the Grimsley band program with fundraising campaigns and volunteer coordination. The only requirement to become a member of the band boosters is you must have a child enrolled in a band class at Grimsley High School. There are no dues associated with your membership and boosters’ meet approximately 4 times a school year. All meetings will be at 6:30 pm and located in the Grimsley Band Room (room 700). The meetings are led by the band director and the booster leadership team made up of elected parent volunteers.

 

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

​Volunteer: The level of commitment within the Boosters’ organization depends on each family’s time, talents, and willingness. Many different levels of commitment benefit the band. Here are just a few:

• Come to booster meetings.

• Actively participating as a member of the leadership team.

• Solicit donations for any fundraising campaigns.

• Volunteer for band camp, football games and many other activities 

 

Donate: In addition to the donations of time, the band relies on other donations throughout the year. Look for opportunities to donate water and snacks for band activities, as well as money that will be used toward scholarships and to help fund our band ensembles..

 

Fundraising: The Grimsley Band Boosters’ host fundraisers each fall and spring. We also receive a portion of the proceeds from select shopping discount cards and employer matching programs. The funds raised are invested in the band program for instrument purchase and repairs, marching band uniforms, investments in new equipment such as:

• Speakers and microphones for communication during practices and games

• Formal attire for competitions and performances

• E-clips for marching band

 

Please consider becoming an active member of the Boosters. We understand schedules are full and time is precious, even the smallest efforts will have a big impact with the Grimsley Band.

Committees

​Fundraising Committee

The band booster organization is dependent on funds raised throughout the year to sustain the annual operating budget.  This committee is integral in developing fundraising opportunities and community outreach.  We welcome those who are interested in soliciting financial  and in kind support from the community and developing creative fundraising campaigns in addition to our annual Spaghetti Sessions.

 

Spaghetti Sessions 

2025-2026 Coordinator: Claire Lambert

 

The Spaghetti Sessions is a fundraising event showcasing the musical talents of the Percussion and Jazz Ensembles, as well many of our talented musicians. As the music plays, guests enjoy a spaghetti dinner served by our band members.

 

Uniform Committee

2025-2026 Coordinator: Karen Powell & Kelly Hannum

​

Our band uniforms are the visual accompaniment to our outstanding musicians. The volunteers who assist in this committee ensure that every member is fitted and assigned a uniform as well as oversees the care and maintenance throughout the band and parade season. Volunteers are needed during the fitting process, before and after football games and for cleaning after band season.

 

Hospitality Committee

2025-2026 Coordinator: Rolita Dawson

​

Responsibilities include planning meals for the marching band before all away football games including Page and Homecoming. Volunteers are needed to help serve meals, assist on senior night and other events including the end of year banquet. 

 

Volunteer Coordination

This position manages our signups when volunteers are needed at band events throughout the school year.
