Welcome to the Grimsley High School Band program. We expect this year’s GHS Bands to carry on the rich tradition of musical excellence that has been the trademark of Grimsley High School over the last century.
This handbook has been written to introduce new members and veterans to the new operating procedures that will be implemented this year and to serve as a reference on policies and expectations throughout the year. In this handbook you will find information on all aspects of the band program, including the organizational structure of the bands, schedules, conduct, attendance policies, equipment, fundamentals of marching, and the Band Boosters.
It is our hope that everyone will adopt the following as their personal philosophy: 1) Do your best. 2) Respect others. 3) Have a good time. 4) Be flexible.
If we all strive to make these principles part of our personal philosophy then it is quite possible that this year’s band experience will be one of the highlights of your life. |
